If there is no existing EV charging system or network in your car park, the company responsible for managing the complex can apply to SEAI for grant support. SEAI will provide up to 80% funding for infrastructure costs and will also offer €600 per charge point installed. The management company can make independent arrangements with you to pay for any difference to acquire ownership of the charger. Watch our short video animation that explains the process.

Frequently asked questions

DriversBusinessApartmentsBillingSupport
How do I start a charging session?

You can start a charging session using the mobile app, by scanning the QR code displayed on the charger, or by tapping a registered RFID card or fob where supported.

Do I need an account to charge?

Not always. Many public chargers support guest or ad-hoc charging by scanning the QR code and following the payment instructions. Creating an account can make repeat charging faster and gives you access to charging history, invoices and saved payment methods.

How do I find an available charger?

Use our mobile app or charger map to view nearby charging locations, connector types, charging speeds, pricing and live availability.

How do I know if a charger is compatible with my vehicle?

Each charger listing shows the connector type and maximum charging power available. Your vehicle must have a compatible connector. The actual charging speed will depend on both the charger and your vehicle's maximum charging capability.

Why is my vehicle charging more slowly than the charger rating?

The power shown on a charger is its maximum capability. Actual charging speed can be affected by your vehicle's maximum charging rate, battery temperature, current battery level, load management at the site and the charging curve of your vehicle.

Can I stop a charging session at any time?

Yes. You can normally stop the session through the app, web payment page, RFID card or your vehicle, depending on how the session was started.

What happens when my vehicle is fully charged?

The charger will automatically reduce or stop supplying energy when instructed by your vehicle. If you have notifications enabled, we can also notify you when charging is complete.

Are there overstay charges?

Some locations apply an overstay or idle fee after charging has finished or after a specified period. Any applicable charges will be clearly displayed before you begin charging.

What should I do if the charging cable will not release?

First end the charging session and unlock your vehicle. Some vehicles require you to unlock the vehicle twice or release the cable through the vehicle's charging menu. If the cable remains locked, contact our support team.

What happens if a charger is not working?

Check the charger status in the app and try restarting the session. If the charger remains unavailable, contact support using the charger ID displayed on the unit so that we can investigate remotely.

Can I use my RFID card at every charger?

Your RFID card will work across chargers and networks that support your account or participating roaming services. Compatibility may vary by network.

Can I charge without my phone?

Yes, where RFID charging is supported. Once your RFID card or fob has been registered to your account, you can normally start and stop sessions by tapping it on the charger.

Will charging stop automatically if something goes wrong?

Yes. EV chargers contain multiple safety systems and continuously communicate with the vehicle. Charging can be automatically stopped if the charger or vehicle detects an unsafe operating condition.
